How we research and write our guides

Our guides help people sell secondhand clothes. Sellers make real decisions with them, so we hold them to a simple standard: specific, sourced, current and honest about what we don’t know.

Where our facts come from

  • Official sources first. Fees, rules, payout times and shipping come from the marketplaces’ own help centres and terms. Where rules differ by country, we say which country.
  • Named datasets. When we use third-party market data, such as sale prices and sell times, we name the source and the period it covers next to the numbers.
  • Our own data, clearly labelled. Some pages use aggregate, anonymous statistics from listings created with Vintefy. We say so, and we never present Vintefy’s AI-suggested price ranges as sale prices.
  • Sources listed on the page. Guides end with the sources we checked and when we checked them.

How we write

Each guide starts with a direct answer, then the detail. We prefer specific numbers, examples and steps over general advice, and we leave out what we can’t back up. Some drafts and translations are produced with the help of AI tools; they are checked against the cited sources before they are published.

Keeping guides current

Marketplace rules and fees change. Every guide shows the date it was last reviewed, and we review our most-read guides regularly and whenever a platform announces a change. When a fact changes, we update the page and its review date.

Independence

Vintefy is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Vinted, Depop, eBay, Poshmark or any other marketplace. Marketplace names are used only to describe what a guide or tool is for. We make AI listing photos, and we mention Vintefy where it genuinely helps; comparisons with other tools are based on their own published features and prices.
