The short answer

The Vinted terms sellers ask about most: a Bump promotes one listing for 3 or 7 days; Showcase (formerly Wardrobe Spotlight) promotes your whole wardrobe for 7 days; the Vinted fee (formerly the Buyer Protection fee) is paid by the buyer, not you; an offer can be up to 40% below your price; an order completes when the buyer presses “Everything is OK” or after 2 days; and holiday mode hides your listings for up to 90 days.

B

BNWOT / NWOTReseller slang

Brand new without tags (NWOT in the US): never worn, but the tags have been removed. Say so in the description.

BNWTReseller slang

Brand new with tags: never worn, original tags still attached. Show the tags in a photo, or buyers will not believe it.

Bump

A paid promotion that moves one listing higher in newsfeeds and search results for 3 or 7 days, or until it sells. The price depends on the item’s price and the duration. Vinted Bump cost.

Bundle

Several items from one seller bought in one order, with one shipping fee. Buyers press “Create bundle” and can add up to 100 items. Vinted bundles.

Bundle discount

A discount a seller sets in advance for 2, 3 or more items bought together; it applies automatically. Only standard sellers can offer it, not Pro sellers. How to set a bundle discount.

Buy now

The button that pays for an item through Vinted. Only “Buy now” orders get Vinted’s refund protection; payments outside Vinted are not covered.

C

Clone modeVintefy term

Vintefy’s mode that turns a flat-lay, hanger or mannequin photo into a photo of the item worn by a realistic AI model. AI model for clothes.

Condition

The grade you pick when listing. Vinted’s Help Centre lists New, Like new, Very good, Good and Satisfactory (plus Needs repair for electronics). Pick honestly: an overstated condition is the easiest way into a dispute.

Counterfeit

A fake that copies a protected brand, logo or design. Selling counterfeits is banned on Vinted even if you say it is a copy; the listing is removed and the account suspended, and repeat cases get a permanent block. Luxury items need proof of authenticity. Item Verification.

Counteroffer

A seller’s reply to an offer with a different price. Decline the buyer’s offer and press “Make an offer” to propose your own. How to handle offers.

CrosslistingReseller slang

Listing the same item on several marketplaces at once (for example Vinted, Depop and eBay) and removing it everywhere when it sells. Best app to sell clothes.

D

Dispute

A disagreement after a buyer reports an issue. If buyer and seller cannot agree on a refund or return, Vinted’s team reviews the case and decides. If the buyer reports an issue.

Drop-off point

A shop, locker or post office where you hand in a parcel with your prepaid label. Which ones you can use depends on the carrier the buyer chose; your Vinted inbox tells you where to drop it off. How shipping works on Vinted.

E

Electronics Verification

An optional paid check for electronics, chosen by the buyer. Listed at £5 per item on Vinted’s UK price list. Item Verification.

“Everything is OK”

The button a buyer presses to confirm an order arrived as described. It completes the order and releases the payment to the seller. “Everything is OK” explained.

F

Favourite

Pressing the heart on a listing to save it. The seller gets a notification and can open a conversation to send that member an offer. Vinted favourites.

Flat-lay

A photo of an item laid flat and shot from above. Quick to take, but it hides fit and drape, which is why many sellers add an on-model photo. Clothing photo tips.

FlippingReseller slang

Buying items cheaply (in charity shops, at car boot sales, in sales) to resell at a profit.

H

HaulReseller slang

A batch of items bought in one go, usually for resale; also the videos resellers post showing what they bought.

Holiday mode

A setting that hides all your listings for up to 90 days. It does not extend paid Bumps or Showcase. Vinted holiday mode.

I

“I have an issue”

The button a buyer presses to report a problem with an order instead of confirming it. For standard sellers, the buyer has 2 days; the order is suspended and the payment held until it is resolved. How issues are handled.

Item Verification

An optional authenticity check for eligible designer items, paid by the buyer (£10 in the UK, €10 in France). The seller ships to Vinted’s hub, and the item goes on to the buyer with a hangtag and report. Item Verification explained.

L

LowballReseller slang

An offer far below a fair price, often close to Vinted’s 40% limit. Decline politely or counter near your floor. How to handle offers.

O

Offer

A proposed lower price, up to 40% below the listing price. Buyers can send up to 25 a day; sellers have no limit. Offers are not binding and an accepted offer does not reserve the item. How to handle offers.

On-model photo

A photo of the item being worn. It shows fit, length and drape, which flat-lays cannot. AI model for clothes.

Order completion

The point an order is final: when the buyer presses “Everything is OK”, or 2 days after delivery without a reported issue (14 days for Pro sellers). After it, Vinted can no longer offer a refund or return. How orders complete.

P

Pit-to-pitReseller slang

A chest measurement taken across a garment laid flat, from armpit seam to armpit seam. Doubled, it gives roughly the chest circumference. Buyers ask for it more than any other measurement.

Prepaid label

The shipping label Vinted generates after a sale and sends to your email and Vinted inbox. You must use it: a different label or shipping option cancels the order. How shipping works on Vinted.

Pro seller

A business seller account. Buyers have a 14-day right of withdrawal, orders complete after 14 days, and Pro sellers cannot offer bundle discounts.

R

Relist

Taking down an unsold listing and posting it again as new. Our standard: relist every 10 to 14 days and change as much as you can (new photos, description, title and an adjusted price). Vinted relisting strategy.

Return

Sending an item back after a reported issue. Buyers pay return postage by default unless the seller offers a Vinted label, and must send it within 5 working days of the seller requesting it. Issues and returns.

ROIReseller slang

Sell-through rateReseller slang

The share of your listed items that sold in a period. 15 sold out of 60 listed in a month is a 25% sell-through rate.

Set listing

One listing with up to 5 items priced together. The first photo must show all items together, not as a collage. Bundles vs sets.

Showcase

Formerly Wardrobe Spotlight. A paid 7-day promotion of your whole wardrobe: members see up to 15 of your listings they are most likely to buy. You need at least 5 listed items. Bump vs Showcase.

SNAD

Significantly not as described: an item that differs from its listing in a way that matters. It is the main reason a buyer can get a refund. Items that simply don’t fit are not SNAD. Issues and refunds.

SourcingReseller slang

Finding stock to resell: charity shops, car boot sales, kilo sales, clearance rails. What to source.

Studio modeVintefy term

Vintefy’s mode that puts the item on a clean, studio-style background. Clothing background remover.
