Vinted holiday mode: how it works
Holiday mode hides your whole wardrobe for up to 90 days so nobody can buy while you are away. How to switch it on, what it does not do, and how to come back strong.

The short answer
Holiday mode hides all your Vinted listings for up to 90 days, so nobody can buy something you cannot send. Switch it on in the app under Profile, Holiday mode, “Hide my items”, or on the website under Account settings. You can turn it off at any time. It does not pause Bumps or Showcase you have paid for, and orders you have already received still need to be shipped on time.

How to turn on holiday mode

In the app
Go to your Profile, select “Holiday mode” and switch on “Hide my items”.

Go to Account settings, switch on Holiday mode and press Save at the bottom of the page.

Ship open orders first
Holiday mode hides your listings; orders you have already received still have to be shipped within 5 working days. Send anything sold before you switch it on.

Switch it off when you are back
Turn it off the same way, at any time. Your listings become visible again.
When to use it
- Travelling: you cannot reach a drop-off point within the 5 working days Vinted gives you to ship. A missed deadline cancels the order automatically.
- Christmas and busy weeks: carriers slow down and you may not get to the post. See the winter selling guide.
- Illness or a stock-take: any time you would rather not sell than ship late.
For a single day or two, you usually do not need it: if an order comes in, you can ask the buyer for a 3 or 5 working-day extension (they can accept or decline).
Before you switch it on
- Ship every open order. Holiday mode hides listings; it does not stop the shipping clock on items already sold.
- Do not buy promotions. Paid Bumps and Showcase keep counting down while you are hidden. See what a Bump costs.
- Reply to open conversations so buyers know when you will be back.
Coming back: how to restart sales
Vinted does not document how holiday mode affects ranking, and claims that toggling it boosts visibility are unproven. What reliably works after a break:
- Check the season. After a summer break, your wardrobe may be full of summer items just as buyers move to autumn. Use the selling calendar to decide what to keep live.
- Relist your best items and change as much as you can: new photos with the free photo refresher, a new description from the free description generator, a new title and an adjusted price. Then keep a 10 to 14-day relisting rhythm. We recommend posting between 19:00 and 21:00 (our recommendation, not official Vinted data). Details in the relisting strategy.

Vinted holiday mode: your questions
What does holiday mode do on Vinted?
It hides all your listings so nobody can buy them while you are away or cannot ship. Vinted suggests it for times when you cannot send sold items or need to pause selling for another reason. You can switch it on or off at any time.
How long can I use holiday mode on Vinted?
Up to 90 days, according to Vinted’s Help Centre (UK and France).
How do I turn on holiday mode on Vinted?
App: Profile, Holiday mode, then switch on “Hide my items”. Website: Account settings, switch on Holiday mode, then press Save.
Does holiday mode pause my Bumps or Showcase?
No. Holiday mode does not extend the length of Bumps or Showcase you have already bought, so the paid days keep running while your items are hidden. Do not buy promotions just before you go away.
Does holiday mode hurt my ranking on Vinted?
Vinted does not say. Some sellers claim switching it on and off boosts visibility; we have found no evidence for that. If you want fresh visibility after a break, relisting your best items with new photos, a new title and description and an adjusted price is a more reliable approach.
What happens to orders when I turn on holiday mode?
Holiday mode hides listings; it does not ship for you. Sellers have 5 working days to send an order or it is cancelled automatically, so ship everything already sold first. You can ask a buyer for a 3 or 5 working-day extension, which they can accept or decline.
