Vinted favourites: what they mean for sellers

A favourite is the clearest signal of interest a Vinted seller gets. What it means, what you can do with it, and when an offer turns it into a sale.

The short answer

A favourite on Vinted is a member pressing the heart on your listing to save it. Vinted notifies you, and tapping the notification opens a conversation with that member, where you can add details or press Make an offer to send a lower price (up to 40% below the listing price) that only they see. Vinted says you usually don’t need to act; an offer works best on items with several favourites and no sale.

What favourites do for buyers

The heart saves an item to the buyer’s Favourite items list (in the app under Profile; on the website via the heart next to the profile picture). Buyers use it to shortlist, compare and come back later. When a buyer creates a bundle from your wardrobe, the items they have favourited from you are shown first.

What a favourite tells you as a seller

A favourite means interest, not a decision. Typical reasons a buyer favourites and waits:

  • Price: they hope it will drop, or are waiting to see if you send an offer.
  • Comparison: they are looking at several similar items.
  • Bundling: they plan to buy more from you later.
  • Doubt: a missing measurement or an unclear photo.

Vinted does not document whether favourites affect ranking. The Vinted algorithm guide covers what is known about ranking.

How to send an offer to someone who favourited

  1. 1

    Open the notification

When someone favourites your item, Vinted notifies you. Tapping the notification opens a conversation with that member.

  2. 2

    Say something useful

Add a detail they cannot see in the listing: a measurement, how it fits, the fabric, or that you can post tomorrow.

  3. 3

    Press Make an offer

Choose a lower price (up to 40% below the listing price) and send it. Only that member sees the lower price.

  4. 4

    Follow up once, then stop

If they do not reply, leave it. Repeated messages put people off; a relisted item with fresh photos will reach them again.

Lots of favourites, no sale?

  • Check the details: measurements, fabric, flaws photographed honestly. Buyers favourite and wait when they are unsure about fit.
  • Check the first photo: it earned the favourite, but the rest of the photos need to close the sale.
  • Relist after 10 to 14 days and change as much as you can: new photos with the free photo refresher, a new description from the free description generator, a new title and an adjusted price. We recommend posting between 19:00 and 21:00 (our recommendation, not official Vinted data). See the relisting strategy.
  • Check the season. A summer dress favourited in September may only sell in May. See the selling calendar.

Vinted favourites: your questions

What does favourite mean on Vinted?

Pressing the heart on a listing saves it to the member’s “Favourite items” so they can find it later. For the seller, a favourite is a sign of interest: Vinted notifies you, and you can open a conversation and send that member an offer.

Can sellers see who favourited their item on Vinted?

You get a notification when another member favourites one of your items, and opening it starts a conversation with that member. That is how most sellers send offers to people who favourited.

Should I send an offer to everyone who favourites my item?

Not automatically. Vinted itself says you usually don’t need to do anything and can wait for the member to get in touch. Send an offer when an item has several favourites but no sale after a few days, or when you would accept a lower price anyway.

Why do people favourite but not buy on Vinted?

Many favourite to compare, to wait for a price drop, or to bundle later. A favourite is interest, not intent. A small offer, a bundle discount or a clearer listing often turns it into a sale.

Do favourites help ranking on Vinted?

Vinted does not say whether favourites affect where your listing appears. Treat them as a signal of buyer interest rather than a ranking lever, and do not ask friends to favourite your items.

How do I see my favourite items on Vinted?

In the app, they are under your Profile in “Favourite items”. On the website, use the heart symbol next to your profile picture. Press the heart on a listing again to remove it.
